Southern Pine Lodge Fine Pines Floors and Walls
Warm and inviting, Southern Yellow Pine Flooring – also called yellow pine flooring or Southern pine flooring – is an American classic. Imparting a distinctively traditional look, yellow pine flooring comes from one of our most abundant and renewable species – Southern Yellow Pine.
The most prevalent tree in the southern forest and the preferred construction wood of the 19th century, Southern Yellow Pine was used for everything from clipper ship masts to warehouse timbers to residential flooring. This plain sawn, short leaf Yellow Pine represents the least expensive, yet one of the most traditional flooring choices available.  An oil finish will enhance the prominent grain and start mellowing the patina of your yellow pine flooring right away. Here are the grades of Southern Yellow Pine:

SELECT GRADE (SPIB C&BTR):

Available in solid plank only, unfinished and pre-finished by special order, this plain sawn grade of yellow pine flooring is virtually knot free, has a limited range of color variation and grain pattern. Select Grade Yellow Pine Flooring can cross the line from country to formal, if desired.

NATURAL GRADE (SPIB D&BTR)

Available in solid plank and unfinished ONLY, this plain sawn grade of yellow pine flooring has all of the naturally occurring wood character remaining such as infrequent small tight knots, minor color variations and varying grain patterns that add to its popular appeal. Natural Grade Yellow Pine Flooring is a good compromise if you like a little character in your flooring but aren’t sure about a lot of big knots.

RUSTIC GRADE (SPIB #2)

Available in solid planks, unfinished and pre-finished by special order, this plain sawn grade of yellow pine flooring has all of the naturally occurring wood character remaining such as frequent large knots, color variations and varying grain patterns. Rustic Grade Yellow Pine flooring fits in any country casual style setting.

Fine Pines is our company and my name is Jason, I want the opportunity to talk with you about our solid flooring options. Along with all grades of Unfinished Hickory, Oak, and Walnut our main, and most popular product is our Southern Yellow Pine #2 common or select. We have been selling this flooring since 1998 and our mill partnership allows us to offer Southern Yellow Pine Flooring at the lowest prices. If you compare our product to “like” flooring we are consistently 30% cheaper. Of course you may find inferior SYP at lower prices but it is most likely a culled product that requires you sand the entire floor and adds to the work load with random lengths and/or high a cull rate. Fine Pines Flooring sells Southern Yellow Pine direct from our mill partners.  Our flooring is precision milled to architectural quality with a waste factor of only 5% and lengths that are not random but offered in standard lengths of 8’ or 10’, with standard widths of 4”, 6”, 8” or 10”. All floors are kiln dried -tongue and groove with recessed backs. Floors are surface sanded and for most projects require very little additional sanding.  We ship floors all over the country and have references available upon request. Samples are available with a phone call. My name is Jason and I look forward to talking with you about our Southern Yellow Pine Flooring.  Below are examples of prices in different grades (pallet = 800sq ft):
